This is not only a big pond with a lush look. Here is one of the greatest gastronomic centers of Rio. Take a look in another post I wrote here about the best kiosks of Lagoa, for great tips!

Let me tell you something: every day I go to work by bike, of course, and I aways choose the path by the Lagoa, is a little bit longer, but very worth it – you start your day in a highly good mood! The Dois Irmãos and the Pedra da Gávea arise monstrous at one side, while the Cristo, on the other hand, observes us from above. It’s surreal the natural composite here, every day I wonder if this is even true.

There was a time when I was rowing in Clube de Regatas de Botafogo (a boat race place), which is next to Parque da Catacumba, also in Lagoa. It’s a very cool experience, try paddling to the center of the lake and watch it all in 360, is amazing! Speaking of the Parque da Catacumba I remembered my first week here in Rio: a friend took me for a ride on Lagoa, rent an Itaú bike went to the park. Dude, we did a track on the hill Morro da Catacumba, the rise till there is a little difficult, but once you arrive at the gazebo – gosh! The view is awesome! All that I needed was to sit on a rock and observe the contrast between the blue-green sea of Ipanema and Leblon, the gray of the buildings and the dark blue of Lagoa. Very worth doing this tour.

For those that are into skateboarding, there`s a skate park near the Clube Caiçaras (one privet small island, only club member, and member`s friend allowed). And for those for who enjoy football, tennis, volleyball, the fields are scattered around the pond (has even a baseball field). Of course, the Rio buffed people (die of envy), wake up very early and run or bike in the morning before going to work. This is the lifestyle here… and eventually you get in the rhythm.
